It’s Not God’s Fault
One of the most wonderful truths given to us in the Bible would be that Man has to cooperate with God in order for God’s will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. When life does not resemble God’s strength and goodness it is not God’s fault. It is because we have not submitted to the purposes of God.
We see right from the beginning that God needed Man to cooperate with His plans. In the book of Genesis we see that God had plans for the Earth and for everything in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:5 says, “When no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up for the Lord had not caused it to rain upon the earth and THERE WAS NO MAN TO TILL THE GROUND.” God wanted these plants to grow but two things were necessary: Water and a man. God could not get His will to operate until there was a man willing to cooperate with God. Mankind was created for the very purposes of executing God’s will on the earth. Many times our struggles in life are not necessary. Sometimes they are the result of not “tilling the ground.” What does that mean? It means we have not cooperated strictly with the plans of God. We try to make our own decisions, plans, and dreams. We “till” only “the ground” that we want to and then life becomes overly difficult because God cannot bless your plans. His plans for your life are already blessed. Find that plan and stick to it. That’s where your blessing is.
Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son (or daughter), attend to My Words; incline your EAR to my sayings. Let them not depart from your EYES and keep them in the midst of your HEART. For they (My Words) are LIFE to those that FIND THEM and HEALTH TO ALL THEIR FLESH.” Where are you going to get God’s Words in your ears? In a Gospel preaching church. How will you keep your eyes on the Word? Study your Bible. How does the Word get into your heart? Meditating on the Word. What is the result? Life (Hebrew word=prosperity in all things) and health. God has already provided the way for us to have a higher quality of life. Till the ground! The ground is your heart! The ground is your life! Your tool is the Word of God!
Tilling the ground means to get it ready. It means to get it ready to plant seeds. It means to get ready for harvest! If we go without Life and Health as promised in the verses above then that means we have not found the Word yet. That means we haven’t planted the right seeds. The Word produces harvest. The Word is planted in your heart only through your ears and your eyes. If we haven’t done the right planting it’s not God’s fault if we go without.
