The Divine Nature
In the days we live in there is a deficit within the Church. This deficit is regarding the thousands of backsliding believers that are wandering around, stagnate, and powerless to change the world in which we live. Why is this and what is the solution?
There are 1001 excuses why we are not seeing a revival in the midst of the Church. We blame it on the media, government, and political leaders. We cite all the outside sources but what about what is going on within the Church? Yes the media can be a distraction. Yes laws are not making things any easier and yes the wrong representatives in our government can hurt the Christian cause. But they are not the problem. The reason why believers backslide out of dynamic Christian living is because they have never had a real life taste of God’s Divine Nature. Many believers are never given that chance because our tradition has constantly told them how weak they are, how broken they are, and how God prefers them beaten up in life. Believers are not weak, not broken, and not beaten up. 1 John 5:4 says, “Whatsoever is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD and this is the VICTORY that overcomes the world even our faith.” That is the Nature of God. God is an overcoming, victorious, problem solving Master of Faith and His Nature is given to everyone in His Family! Are you Born Again? Then you are an over comer. You are a victor in every situation. Everywhere you’ve been you’ve won and everywhere you’re going, you win! (Romans 8:37)
2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as His Divine power (ability) has given unto us all things that pertain to LIFE AND GODLINESS through the KNOWLEDGE OF HIM that has CALLED US TO GLORY AND VIRTUE.” My Bible tells me that God has ALREADY given to me everything I need for victorious living. Some Christians say that life here on Earth will be full of misery, weakness, and failures. They say that only in the “sweet by and by” will life be victorious. Notice what the verse just said. It said God not only provided our Heavenly destination but also everything for THIS LIFE. Do you need health in this life? Yes. God has provided it. Do you need finances for this life? Yes. God has provided it. Do you need peace, joy, and meaningful relationships for this life? Yes. God has provided it. If God has already provided it don’t you think He wants you to partake of it? Yes He does but there is a catch. It says you access this kind of nature through the knowledge of Him. What does that mean? The word “knowledge” here means personal, relationship with active participation. Believers will participate when they know that God has good plans and this God-life can be a reality. One taste of the life God has provided and a believer will never backslide again.
